On a cold, rainy, Monday morning, this song captures that mood exactly. I wouldn’t go as far to say that its depressing but it is very sobering. The idea of “letting go” has the connotation of giving into failure but it could very well mean the opposite; being illuminated enough to rid yourself of unwanted baggage. The background vocals used on the track are amazing. They give the song that haunting feeling. The lyrics of the song describe an interaction with the universe/god-like figure and the the vocals represent a kind of internal conflict. The song does very well to capture all of that.
