“Luckenbach, Texas” – Waylon Jennings

Guest post by James R.:

I’ve been delving lately back into old-school country music. Maybe it’s the warm weather and too much time at my desk that have me dreaming of open roads and wide skies, or the realization in this age of staying woke that there’s a lot of real hard-hitting social and political commentary in the old stuff. Or maybe it’s the recent breakup that has me searching for the sage advice of troubadour philosophers like Hank Williams and Wille Nelson. Either way, this song–the easy twang of steel guitars and the rough-edged vocals of Waylon Jennings–is a current favorite, and good reminder to slow it down and appreciate the simple things.
