Young Thug is undoubtedly one of the best things to happen to Hip-Hop. It’s hard to talk about the quality of his music without going into his prowess as a musical artist, but I will attempt to do that for a moment. This track feels like a wavy, braggadocios hip-hop ballad that is just floating on air. By defining the song as a ballad, it means its sentimental and it really is.
A lot of people might potentially be turned off by the drug references or the talk of sexual exploits with women. But the way Thugger raps and Future sings about that, its almost like a beautiful poem. The way it’s sung and composed, it’s almost elegiac. Thugger is unconventional but his music hits at the core and you can’t help but sway to it.
