Good lord, this song and the vibes around it are electrifying and funky. Dare I say, somewhat Freddie Mercury-esque in the way Brandon Flowers uses his high falsetto to evoke some really badass sensations. Its actually quite ironic that such a voice could evoke that kind of feeling, but it is all there and it is dope. It seems like every year there is a song that talks about a person being “the man” and they all tap into that ego.
In recent years, its been Aloe Blacc’s The Man and Jidenna’s Classic Man. Though it isn’t necessary for the man’s ego to be more elevated than it already is nor is it a need for a song that celebrates men, sometimes its good for a person to have an anthem. Something that you can turn on when you have your aviators on and strutting down a busy street with a leather jacket on. All men, women and non-gender conforming folks alike can feel and bask in those badass vibes.
